Nature wine tour:
With this tour, take a beautiful walk through the countryside and discover the ruins of a 1000 years old castle, then visit the winery settled in the 14th century dependence of the castle. Sit in an exceptional setting to enjoy a gourmet picnic accompanied by wines from the estate.
Half day wine tour with lunch (5 hours)- with or without transportation
Meet your guide at 9.30am in Montpellier, after a 40 min drive you will arrive to the start of your hike.
You will start walking up following an easy path that leads to the ruins of the Aumelas castle, a feudal fortress from the middle age built in 1034. On the way, your guide will explain you all about the typical vegetation of the region, our famous « Garrigue » full of aromatics plants (juniper, thyme, rosemary…).
After a stop at the castle to admire the panorama views, you will continue on a flat path until reaching the wine estate, settled today in the dependence of castle built in the 14th century. This family estate passed down from generation to generation is now run by two brothers who produce an excellent range of organic wines.
You will visit the castle and the cellar and settled in the French garden for a wine tasting followed by a gourmet picnic. An unforgettable experience!
After lunch, your guide will pick you up directly at the château to come back to Montpellier around 2.30pm.
