Camargue and Aigues-Mortes tour

Discovering the Camargue and the Fortified Town of Aigues-Mortes

Half-Day Excursion (3h30)

Set off for a half-day escape through the wild and authentic landscapes of the Camargue. We will pick you up at 2:30 PM in Montpellier in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan for an experience rich in history, nature, and local flavors.

Our first stop is the medieval town of Aigues-Mortes, famous for its impressive fortified walls. Step back in time as you explore this historic city, founded in the 13th century by King Louis IX. Enjoy a guided walk through the old town, followed by some free time to stroll along cobbled streets, browse artisanal shops, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the town squares.

Next, enjoy a tasting of local specialties, including the famous sweet fougasse, Camargue salt, and other regional delicacies.

The tour continues with a visit to the Tour Carbonnière, a medieval watchtower nestled in the heart of the marshes. Climb to the top for breathtaking panoramic views over the unique Camargue landscapes, where nature reigns supreme.

Return to Montpellier around 6:00 PM.
