Today, the sucess of wine bars is an evidence in France and new openings flourish all over the country, however they were hardly known only 10 years ago…
The first place dedicated to wine in Montpellier was opened in 1984 by the federation of the “côteaux du Languedoc”, going along with the turn towards quality started in the region. The federation has moved to the Mas de Saporta in Lattes since 1989, you will find there today a restaurant and well supplied wine shop.
The first private wine bar opened in 2001, followed by several others and you will now find in Montpellier more than 20 wine bars offering wine by the glass.
I suggest you here a small personnal and subjective selection
to discover the wine delights of the Languedoc.
