Secret Languedoc food and wine tour with sightseeing
That tour is designed for foodies who want to taste the best of our region and explore the local mediterreanean way of life. During the day you will taste the local specialties: oysters, local cheeses, tapenades and much more while discovering the magnificent landscapes of the hinterland and the medieval town of Pézenas.
Your guide will pick you up from your home by minibus and take you first to the edge of the Thau lagoon, one of the largest in Languedoc known for its oyster farming. You can admire the view of the lagoon and oyster beds, and your guide will explain all about the work of this sought-after shell. If you wish, you can sample a few oysters (fresh or au gratin) in front of the lagoon at one of the historic producers.
You will then set off to explore the charming town of Pézenas, known since the Middle Ages for its famous fairs. During a walk in the pedestrian streets of the historic center, you can admire the residences of the 17th and 18th centuries and taste many specialties of Languedoc: the unusual petit pâté de Pézenas, the fougasse, the tapenade and the olive oil, Camargue bull sausage, Pélardon (PDO goat cheese), Pezenas berlingot or Sète zezettes
You will end the day in the vineyard with your guide to learn all about the wine production of our region, its history and its grape varieties. Comfortably installed under the pergola facing the vineyard, you can taste its wines as well as the famous wine of the region, Picpoul de Pinet accompanied by some tapas.
